A Passion for Flight and Airplane Design

Hayao Miyazaki's new and possibly last film is a must see for any pilot or aerospace engineer. It tells the story of Jiro Horikoshu who designed the Zero fighter planes for Japan.


Hayao Miyazaki has long been associated with aerodynamically sound depictions of flight, but this time he has outdone himself in a very serious film based on reality. It may be no surprise to learn that Miyazaki's own father ran Miyazaki Airplane, a company that manufactured rudders for the Zero!
