Blended Winglets

Have you heard of Blended Winglet Performance Enhancement System? They were first introduced in 1992 for the Gulfstream II, but this patented technology is now available as a retrofit upgrade for many straight winged aircraft. It's available for the Boeing 737, 757 and 767. It's an option for the Falcon 2000 series. And it does wonders for the Hawker 800 series.

What are the benefits? Blended Winglets help reduce wingtip vortex, and the result is less drag, lower fuel consumption and superior cruise and climb. According to Clay Lacy: Blended Winglets are the single most significant development in the design of commercial aircraft. In the above two videos, compare the wingtip vortex of a flat wing and that of a Blended Wingtip.
